The unplanned expat blogger behind Wind Breeze Nectar

Hello, I’m Lukas
I work as a project manager. A parent. An expat currently based in Zurich, Switzerland.
A few years back I moved here with my family. What began as a short-term assignment gradually became a new chapter of life abroad.
How It Started
Moving to Switzerland wasn't in the long-range plan. Like many international moves, it began as a job opportunity and soon grew into something much larger.
The initial months were intense — unfamiliar systems, new routines, and lofty expectations. Daily tasks seemed more complicated than they ought to be.
The Adjustment Period
There was culture shock, doubt, and plenty of learning by doing. Yet gradually routines took shape. We found places that suited us, connected with other families, and began laying the groundwork for something that felt steady.
Why I Built Wind Breeze Nectar
Most online guidance was either corporate relocation advice or shallow tourism material. What was missing was an honest, everyday family perspective.
This site aims to fill that gap — practical guidance drawn from real life in Switzerland.
What This Site Covers (And What It Doesn't)
This site is:
- Practical know-how from living in Switzerland
- Centered on family routines and daily life
- Updated whenever a real change occurs
This site isn't:
- Not a tourism board resource
- A paid review site
- Just a generic travel blog
Moving Forward
Our stay in Switzerland goes on, and so does the learning journey. As long as this information remains helpful, I will continue to document what we learn.
If you have questions about family life in Zurich or elsewhere in Switzerland, please don't hesitate to contact me.
Best regards,
Lukas
